The Vice Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, ST., M.Phil. sent off 13 students to participate in the Self Learning Program (SLP) by the Six University Indonesia-Japan Initiative (SUIJI). The send-off ceremony occurred on August 11, 2023. The Coordinator of the SUJI Promotion Office, Prof Dr. Ir. D. Agnes Rampisela, M.Sc, also attended the ceremony. These 13 students will be studying at Ehime University, Kochi University, and Kadawa University in Japan.
In his remarks, Prof. Adi emphasized four critical points to the UNHAS-SUIJI delegates. The first point was about learning about academic culture found during their participation in their host university and maximizing learning experiences that would benefit the students as individuals. Secondly, in building academic and non-academic networks, the participants should be aware of building networks with the people they meet in the program. Thirdly, the importance of the students developing their self-confidence, as participating in such a program requires courage and bravery. Finally, through the performance of the participants during the post-program in UNHAS, other prospective students might be attracted.
