The Secretary of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Prof. Ir. Sumbangan Baja, M.Phil, Ph.D., visited
Wageningen University and Utrecht University to discuss research collaboration opportunities. Prof. Sumbangan met Dr. Giulia Bongiorno, Coordinator of the Soil Science Cluster, Wageningen University and Research (WUR), Dr. Stephen Mantel, and William Dragt from World Soil Museum to discuss potential research collaboration on soils.
Prof. Sumbangan talked about an interdisciplinary workshop that can involve UNHAS and WUR with Prof. Ioannis N. Athanasiadis, a Professor of artificial intelligence and data science at WUR. Finally, on the third visit, Prof. Sumbangan discussed with Associate Professor Irina van Aalst, an urban geographer at Utrecht University.
Prof. Sumbangan not only visited well-known universities in the Netherlands but also had a meeting
with Prof. Agus Setiabudi, Education and Cultural Attache of the Indonesia Embassy in the Netherlands. The Meeting was to talk about Indonesia Higher Education Meeting with WUR, which will be held on 7-10 March 2023. UNHAS is one of the Higher Education that will join the meeting focusing on the faculty and scientist leaders in Indonesia with scientists from WUR.
Moreover, there will also be a leader meeting of the Higher Education with the leaders of WUR to
discuss future research collaborations. On the last agenda, Prof. Sumbangan attended the Conference on Agricultural and Biological Science in Den Haag.
