On June 27, the Faculty of Nursing (FKep) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) held a training session for healthcare workers as part of its community services programs. It was organized in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The event was attended by UNHAS Secretary, Prof. Sumbangan Baja and other members of the university’s staff. The Dean of the Nursing School, Prof. Ariyanti Saleh, also attended the ceremony.
The event was held to support the UNHAS’ Humaniversity program, which aims to provide opportunities for people to develop their skills and talents. According to Ariyanti, FKep UNHAS was focused on helping these individuals become more self-sufficient and contribute to the development of their local communities. Likewise, Andry Yuan of the IOM explained that the collaboration between the two organizations would help improve the mental health and welfare of the refugees. He also noted that the training provided by both parties would help the individuals prepare for their future employment.
According to Yuan, the collaboration between IOM and FKep UNHAS was aimed at supporting the mental health and welfare of refugees. Through the program, the participants would be able to develop their skills and become more self-sufficient. He also noted that the knowledge they would gain from the training would help them in their future employment.
