IISMA 2022 has entered the departure stage for awardees to their respective destination countries. This year 11 Unhas students managed to qualify for this IISMA scholarship. As we know, IISMA is one of the flagship programs of the 12 Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP) which aims to provide opportunities for students to be able to take courses up to 20 credits at partner universities abroad.

Universitas Hasanuddin had the opportunity to host the IISMA 2022 Pre-Departure Briefing for the European region (Estonia) on August 24, 2022. The Pre-Departure Briefing was attended by the Rector of Hasnauddin University (Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa), Vice-Rector for Field 4 (Prof. Adi Maulana), Chair of the IISAM Program (Rachmat Sriwijaya), and Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in Helsinki (Nugo Priano Trinugraha), Head of KUI Unhas and team, and all IISMA awardees who will depart for Estonia.

The Rector of Unhas, Prof. JJ, as he is familiarly called, had the opportunity to give his speech to all awardees who will be going to Estonia. One of them is an Unhas student named Regina Farah Nafilah from the international relations department who will study for 1 semester at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Prof. JJ is very proud to be able to host the pre-departure this time and he is also very happy because one of the Unhas students can feel the exposure of studying abroad. He hopes that in the future Unhas will send more students to participate in this program in the following years.

In the presentation session from Nugo Priano Trinugraha, he explained the things that needed to be prepared before leaving and also provided an overview of the social and cultural conditions in Estonia. This Pre-Departure Briefing was very well guided by Nurul Masyiah Rani Harusi, one of the lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering from 19.00 to 20.30 WITA.
