For five days, from July 9th to 13th, one of the UNHAS international students, Sophia Andrea Aleman, had the opportunity to represent Honduras and UNHAS at the FEALAC Youth Summit 2023. This event brought together young leaders from East Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. It was an enriching experience where we debated, shared ideas, and collaborated to address the critical challenges we face as a generation.
At this outstanding summit, the “FEALAC Bandung Spirit Declarations for Climate Action” were presented, urging governments, civil society, and the private sector to take concrete measures to build a resilient and sustainable future. Likewise, we had the opportunity to visit inspiring projects in the region, such as Citarum Harum, which focused on disaster-resilient society; Bersinar Waste Bank, focused on the circular economy; and the H. Djuanda Forest Park, which focuses on critical land restoration.
The FEALAC 2023 Youth Summit has motivated the participants to continue working together to build a prosperous future for all.
