The International Office Student Volunteer (SV) is a team of students selected by the International Office (IO) to assist international students in various student affairs. The IO has never had student volunteers before. This student volunteer is expected to be a kind of double benefit for the IO and also the students involved. The benefits obtained by the IO can be in the form of assistance to help foreign students who come to Unhas. In addition, the SV can also be a supporting team for international activities carried out at Unhas, such as international conferences and seminars, and so on.
Students who become International Student Volunteers get a great opportunity to interact directly with international students who come to Unhas. In addition to exploring their potential and language skills, they can also learn about cross-cultural understanding which will be useful for them if they get the opportunity to study abroad in the future.
16 Student Volunteers were selected through a competitive process with 98 candidates. The initial registration process was done online through Google Forms. Then the IO team will sort based on the applicable files and requirements. Applicants whose files pass the screening will be interviewed by the IO Task Force. International Student Volunteer admission will be conducted annually.
On August 23, 2022, they were officially inaugurated by the Vice-Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business, Prof. Adi Maulana. He expressed his hope for the Student Volunteers. He hopes that members of the International Student Volunteer can get Hopefully members of the International Student Volunteer can get new experiences and can develop themselves into positive things. He also encouraged the Student Volunteers to apply for the International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), and other overseas scholarships.
