At Unhas Day this time, the International Office got 1 booth so that international students could meet directly with thousands of new students who had just been accepted by Unhas through a very long and competitive admission process. Unhas Day was held at JK Arenatorium on August 20th, 2022, as part of welcoming foreign students.
Unhas has at least dozens of international students who have arrived in the previous semester and some who have just arrived in Makassar this week. Foreign students come from various countries, including Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Gambia, Burkina Faso, and Honduras.
They promoted their countries in terms of geography, history, traditional clothing, traditional weapons, and even traditional dances. Fortunately, it turned out that before coming to Makassar had prepared if an event like this existed. For example, traditional clothes, they actually brought traditional clothes to Indonesia. In addition, they also prepare traditional food and give new students the opportunity to taste their cuisine. And no less exciting, foreign students from Jordan, Yemen, and Palestine performed their traditional dances in front of guests and new students.
The Rector of Unhas took the time to meet the international students at their booth and saw their traditional clothes. The students felt very happy to be visited by the Rector.
