From July 12-July 31, 2022, the Indonesian research team from Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) visited the Japanese research team at the Kanazawa University vaccinology & applied immunology laboratory. This activity is one of a series of activities of the Bilateral Exchange Program DGHERT-JSPS Joint Research Projects between Universitas Hasanuddin – Kanazawa University, where the Principal Investigator (PI) from Unhas is dr. Yenni Yusuf, M.InfectDis, PhD from the FK parasitology department, while the PI from Kanazawa University is Prof. Mitsuhiro Iyori, PhD from the Vaccinology and Applied Immunology Lab.
The main activity was to conduct experiments for Dr. Sitti Nurisyah’s doctoral study. The team was also welcomed by the head of the Vaccinology & Applied Immunology lab, Prof. Shigeto Yoshida. “Every year DIKTI in collaboration with JSPS receives proposals for this program. There are 3 teams from all over Indonesia accepted per year. The selection is done by reviewers in Japan and Indonesia. From this activity, it is hoped that joint publications can be generated and sustainable cooperation can be established between Unhas and Kanazawa University. In addition, this activity can be the beginning of a vaccine study centre at Unhas.
