The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) successfully hosted an information session on Study in Japan 2025 and Academic Seminar from Okayama University on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the IPTEKS Building, Tamalanrea Campus. The event attracted nearly 200 participants, including lecturers, students, and alumni, all eager to explore educational opportunities in Japan.

The session was officially opened by Muhammad Ridwan, M.A., (IO Secretary), who expressed his gratitude to the attendees for their enthusiasm. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the crucial role of the IO in promoting study-abroad opportunities as part of UNHAS’s internationalization efforts. He encouraged participants to stay updated on IO programs by following the official UNHAS IO Instagram.

The first speaker, Kaori Yajima (Indonesian Coordinator of Study in Japan), delivered an insightful presentation on study opportunities in Japan, including various scholarship options available for UNHAS students and faculty. She provided detailed guidance on how to secure admission to Japanese universities. Impressively, she conducted her entire presentation in Bahasa Indonesia, ensuring that the audience could fully grasp the information.

Following her presentation, Prof. Toshihiro Iguchi, M.D., Ph.D., from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Okayama University, captivated the audience with an engaging session about life and academic experiences in Japan. Using an interactive approach, he took the participants through a step-by-step journey of what it is like to study and live in Japan. Additionally, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences also contributed by sharing his perspective and responding to questions from the participants.

The session, moderated by Haniek Khoirunnissa, M.Sc from the IO Task Force, sparked great interest, leading to a lively Q&A session. Even after the official closing at 11:00 AM, participants remained engaged in discussions with the speakers. The IO expressed its gratitude to all attendees for their participation and once again encouraged them to follow UNHAS IO Instagram to stay informed about future international programs and opportunities.
