Hasanuddin University and Yala Rajabhat University Partnership Paves Way for Joint Legal Research and Exchange Programs
On Monday, October 21, 2024, five lecturers from the Faculty of Law (FH) Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) were formally welcomed by Asst. Prof. Nichaphat Rawichart, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yala Rajabhat University, along with Dr. Shewala Badklang, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and Ms. Chonthicha Suratnasanya, Deputy Dean for Administration and Quality Assurance. This meeting was an expert exchange between the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yala Rajabhat University (Thailand) and the Faculty of Law at Hasanuddin University (Indonesia).
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yala Rajabhat University offers 16 academic programs, one of which is the Law Program. The expert meeting covered developments in the legal systems of each country. It concluded with the signing of an Agreement Letter of Intent (LoI) for collaborative initiatives in 2025, including an International Conference, an Outbound Lecturer LoI, and a Thematic Research Group (TRG) LoI. These were signed by Asst. Prof. Nichaphat Rawichart (Dean) and Ms. Chonthicha Suratnasanya (Vice Dean). Additionally, Yala University extended a special invitation to Dr. Andi Tenri Famauri Rifai, S.H., M.H., Dr. Andi Syahwiah A. Sapiddin, S.H., M.H., and Rastiawaty, S.H., M.H. to participate in an inbound exchange in the Law Program at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences next semester and to work on joint publications in the current semester.
During the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yala Rajabhat University expressed an interest in visiting Makassar for a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing, with plans to bring faculty and students to UNHAS Faculty of Law as part of a reciprocal exchange. This outbound activity is fully funded by UNHAS under the Faculty’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Funding Scheme. The initiative supports the university’s ranking indicators in the QS World University Rankings/Asian University Rankings, which include metrics on outbound exchange proportions and potential academic peers.
Prof. Dr. Hamzah Halim, S.H., M.H., M.A.P., Dean of the Faculty of Law, UNHAS, expressed appreciation for the outbound activity as a step toward fulfilling the Faculty of Law’s KPIs.
