UNHAS Rector Welcomes Alliance Française Foundation to Strengthen Cultural and Academic Collaboration

The Alliance Française Foundation (AF) paid a courtesy visit to Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) and was warmly welcomed by the Rector of UNHAS, Prof. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, Ph.D., widely known as Prof. JJ, on Tuesday, 20 January 2028. The meeting took place at the Rector’s Lounge and marked a continued commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.

The AF delegation comprised Jean-François Hans (Geography Delegation) and Julies Irrmann (Counselor of Partnership and Culture, Embassy of France in Jakarta). The representatives were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambo Tuwo, DEA, who serves as Honorary Counselor. The visit reflected the strong and ongoing partnership between UNHAS and Alliance Française.

The Rector was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil. (Vice Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business), Wahyuddin, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, Innovation, and Alumni, Faculty of Cultural Sciences), Dr. Andi Faisal, S.S., M.Hum. (Head of the Department of French Language and Literature), Masdiana, S.S., M.Hum. (Coordinator of Waroeng Prancis), and Muhammad Ridwan (Secretary of the International Office), and Dr. Zulkifli Tahir (Head of Sub Directorate of Partnership).

The visit aimed to further strengthen the long-standing collaboration between UNHAS and AF, particularly in the fields of culture, language, and education. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. JJ presented UNHAS souvenirs, including Hadin Chocolate, followed by a photo session to commemorate the occasion.
