The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) participated in a Staff Exchange Program by visiting Yokohama City University (YCU), Japan. The visit took place on February 4, 2025, at YCU’s Office of International Affairs. The UNHAS IO team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Yves Gendron, Manager of International Cooperation and Partnership, along with two other YCU staff members.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in a fruitful discussion about the roles and activities of their respective international offices. This exchange provided valuable insights to enhance the programs and collaborations between the two institutions. Additionally, a Zoom meeting was conducted to involve all consortium members led by YCU. The virtual discussion aimed to coordinate the implementation of the International Academic Consortium for Sustainable Cities (IACSC) Conference, that will be hosted by UNHAS this year.

Led by Andi Masyitha Irwan, Ph.D. (Head of UNHAS IO), the UNHAS team—Khaeruddin, Ph.D., and Saaduddin, Ph.D.—presented the draft plan for the IACSC Conference. The draft also integrated the 8th International Cultural Program (ICP) as part of the event, aiming to encourage student participation from all consortium members. The final decision on member participation will be further discussed in a webinar meeting of Consortium Leaders.

The visit to YCU concluded with a photo session and the exchange of tokens of appreciation, marking a strong step forward in the ongoing collaboration between UNHAS and YCU.
