UNHAS Holds FGD on Data Collection for QS and THE World University Rankings

The Directorate of Reputation Enhancement, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on data collection for the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) on Sunday–Monday, 25–26 January 2026. The event took place at the Innovate Room, UNHAS Hotel and Convention, and was attended by faculty representatives and the International Office (IO).

The FGD was officially opened by Prof. Ir. Rohani Ambo Rappe, Ph.D., Director of Reputation Enhancement, who also delivered a comprehensive explanation of the methodologies used by both QS and THE ranking platforms. In her presentation, Prof. Rohani outlined the UNHAS ranking roadmap toward 2030, highlighting strategic projections and targets to be achieved in order to improve the university’s global standing.

The discussion continued with presentations of existing data that had been submitted by faculties prior to the FGD. The review revealed that several faculties still needed to complete or refine data required for QS WUR and THE WUR submissions. Through this FGD, the Directorate of Reputation Enhancement emphasized the importance of data completeness and accuracy, and expressed its hope that all required data would be finalized before the official submission deadlines.
