On July 12th-13th, 2023, the Vice Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business of UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil, and the Secretary of the Institute for Quality Assurance and Educational Development (LPPM), Rini Rachmawaty, S.Kep., Ns., MN, PhD, participated in the Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) University Partnership Forum sponsored by USAID and implemented by Arizona State University (ASU) held at the Grand Sahid Hotel, Jakarta.
The aim of this forum was to share the implementation of the USAID HEPI program conducted in the three hub universities: UNHAS, BINUS, and ITB to the new affiliate universities. On the first day, Prof. Adi shared about the best practices for leveraging potential partnerships to develop academic program partnerships and pathways with US STEM Universities. Then, on the second day, Dr. Rini presented the UNHAS-HEPI 5-Year Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Work Plans.
This forum was officially opened by the Mission Director of USAID Indonesia, Mr. Jeffery Cohen; Director General for Learning and Student Affairs of Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Dr. Ir. Sri Gunani Partiwi, M.T; and the Country Director of USAID HEPI Project – ASU, Dr. Abdul Rahman. Other speakers were also invited in this forum, including the Director of Global Operations and HEPI Project Director of ASU, Dr. Kathy Wigal; Assistant Dean of Global Programs of Oklahoma State University and representatives from the United States (US) industry partners, the United States Indonesia Society (USINDO), and Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendirikan (LPDP) or Endowment Fund for Education. Around 36 participants from nine new affiliate universities also participated in this international forum. Through this forum, UNHAS and HEPI have agreed to some mutual benefits in order to achieve the five-year work plans of partnerships.
