The Faculty of Medicine at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) welcomed students from the Specialist Medical Training Program (PPDS) in Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of Technology Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia, on February 4, 2025. The PPDS students were warmly received by Prof. Dr. dr. Rina Masadah, M.Phil., Sp.PA(K)., DFM, Vice Dean for Publication, Community Engagement, and International Affairs, along with Dr. dr. Husnul Mubarak, Sp.KFR., N.M(K)., FEMG, Head of the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (IKFR), and Dr. dr. Nuralam Sam, Sp.KFR., M.S(K)., FEMG., AIFO-K, Secretary of the IKFR Study Program, at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Medicine, UNHAS.

The three PPDS students from UiTM are Dr. Muhammad Mus’ab Bin Ilyasak, Dr. Najihah Binti Abdul Rahman, and Dr. Nadhirah Binti Haniffah. Prof. Rina extended a warm welcome to the students, expressing her hopes that they would gain valuable experience and learn from the diverse medical cases encountered during their stay in Makassar.

This inbound program is a continuation of the academic collaboration between the two Rehabilitation Medicine programs, strengthening educational and research partnerships. The arrival of specialist-level students from UiTM also underscores UNHAS’s growing international reputation as a destination for advanced medical training.

The UiTM PPDS students will undertake a one-month study program in Makassar, where they are expected to acquire not only high-quality medical knowledge but also gain a broader understanding of Indonesian culture.
