A delegation from the Faculty of Nursing (FKep), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), visited Yokohama City University (YCU), Japan, on Tuesday (February 4, 2025). The delegation included the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D., accompanied by faculty member Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D.
The visit aimed to evaluate the ongoing collaboration between the UNHAS Fkep and the School of Nursing at YCU, which was initiated in 2024, particularly in the areas of research and publication. The UNHAS delegation was warmly received by Tomoko Akase, Ph.D., R.N., R.Ph., Dean of the School of Nursing, YCU, along with Nao Tamai, R.N., PHN., Ph.D., Professor in the Department of Nursing, and Yayoi Shoji, R.N., MHS.
Vice Dean Syahrul emphasized the continuation of existing collaborations, stating, “The joint initiatives in research and publication, as well as visiting lectures and student exchange programs—both online and offline—will be extended into 2025 and 2026.” The agreed-upon collaborative activities set for 2025 are expected to provide significant benefits for both faculty members and students by enhancing their international exposure and academic perspectives.
Additionally, the meeting also discussed a published research article resulting from this collaborative effort. The publication entitled “ The Impact of eHealth Literacy on Health Behaviors for Non-communicable Disease Prevention Among University Students in Japan and Indonesia” was co-authored by Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D., Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp., M.Si., Dr. Erfina, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.,and Andi Muhammad Fiqri, MN., RN., from UNHAS side and Yayoi Shoji, R.N., MHS., Prof. Ryota Ochiai, PhD.,RN., Eriko Shinohar, PhD., RN., Shoko TakeuchiPhD., RN., Mariko Iida,PhD., RN., Fusae MoriguchiPhD., RN. , Sachiyo Nakamura PhD., RN., and Yuka Kanoya, PhD., RN from YCU side.
