33 delegations from Flinders University, consisting of 30 students and 3 lecturers, visited Universitas Hasanuddin. The visit is a series of Short Study Program by Flinders University which aims to learn and observe the history and current condition of the Relationships of Makassar – Australia specifically Southern Australia.
The delegations was warmly welcomed by Muhammad Iqbal Djawad, Ph.D (Director of Partnership of Unhas) Karmila Mokoginta (Head of International Office of Unhas) at Meeting Room A, 4th level of Rectorate Building of Unhas, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Monday (02/12).
Director of Partnership, Muhammad Iqbal Djawad, Ph.D., in his brief remark, expressed his gratitude to the delegations of Flinders University. He hoped that the delegations can enjoy their time in Makassar comfortably and happily, so that they can have a beautiful memory.
“We hope this isn’t just a visit but there is at least an achievement in the development of Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi that can be done. For example, Student exchange or public lectures delivered by one of Flinders University lecturers, and vice versa,” said Iqbal.
Silvia Malasari as a person in charge added that the visit of Flinders University to Makassar was intended to study a long-established relationship between Makassar and Australia. This visit can be used by Unhas and Flinders University students to share educational information.
“by chance at Flinders University, they have a particular subject on the historical relations of Makassar and Australia. So, to deepen the course, they come to visit Makassar to observe it with their own eyes” explained Silvia.
The visit of Flinders University delegation to Unhas was not the first time. Previously, they had also been to Unhas for several times. This is their third visit since 2017. (*)
