On 20 March 2023, a team from Keio University visited the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Hasanuddin University (FIB UNHAS). The Head of the Japanese Literature Study Program, Meta Sekar Puji Astuti, Ph.D welcomed the delegation. The Keio University representatives were led by Yo Nonaka, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Faculty of Policy Management, and included 17 students. This visit was related to the course of the Special Research Project on Multi-ethnic Society in Indonesia. In addition, Japanese Literature Study Program lecturers and students also attended the event.
The visit aimed to gain a better understanding of UNHAS and Keio University. The Keio University team conducted their activities in Makassar from Thursday, 16 March to Monday, 20 March 2023. These activities included visiting the Mayor of Makassar, sailing to small islands close to the coast, sightseeing in Makassar, and internal meetings.
Keio University students had discussions and interacted with UNHAS students to gain knowledge about the teaching and learning process in the university, especially in Makassar. After a lively debate, UNHAS students took the Keio University team to see some of the places on campus and student activities there. Lastly, Keio students presented their fieldwork reports to UNHAS lecturers and students.
