The Faculty of Public Health (FKM) at Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) welcomed three distinguished professors from Japan: Prof. Toshihiro Iguchi, M.D., Ph.D.; Prof. Satoshi Hirohata, M.D., Ph.D.; and Dr. Kaori Yajima. Their visit was part of a series of academic engagements at the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) and the Faculty of Nursing (FKep), UNHAS.

The delegation was received by Prof. Sukri Palutturi, S.KM., M.Kes., M.ScPH., Ph.D., Dean of FKM UNHAS, accompanied by drg. Irfan Sugianto, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., Dean of FKG UNHAS, and Prof. Anwar Mallongi, S.KM., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, and Innovation at FKM UNHAS 17 February 2025.

During the meeting, the professors from Okayama University explored opportunities for FKM UNHAS students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees at Okayama University. They also discussed the continuation of a student exchange program that has been running since 2022, involving both inbound (foreign students at UNHAS) and outbound (UNHAS students abroad) exchanges across the faculties of Public Health, Dentistry, Medicine, and Nursing.

Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Sukri Palutturi emphasized the importance of this partnership, “This visit strengthens our mutual commitment to enhancing collaboration in education, research, and student exchanges”. He further hoped that the partnership would continue to benefit students and faculty members in both institutions, fostering academic and professional growth.
