Hasanuddin University Office of International Affairs held the International Culture Program (ICP) 2023 with the theme “Maritime Culture of South Sulawesi”. The opening of the activity took place starting at 09.00 Wita in the LP2M Hall, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Thursday (15/06).
Starting the activity, Chairman of the Committee Jamaluddin Fitrah Alam said that this activity was attended by 47 participants from 22 countries. He said this is the second year of organizing ICP directly after the Covid-19 pandemic. He hoped that the participants could participate in the activity well and bring good memories to their respective countries after participating in the activity.
On the same occasion, Andi Masyitha Irwan, S. Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D., in her speech expressed her welcome to the participants. She said ICP was present as a medium to recognize other cultures.
“Through ICP, the participants will add insight and knowledge by studying the culture of the community. You will be introduced in general about Unhas and we hope that after participating in this activity, there will be good stories told when returning to their respective countries, “explained Masyitha.
The activity was officially opened by the Secretary of the University Prof. Ir. Sumbangan Baja, M.Phil., Ph.D. In his remarks, he gave his appreciation for the implementation of ICP which is continuously carried out every year. He hopes that this activity can go well and the participants can get new information and knowledge about Unhas and South Sulawesi culture.
After the official remarks, then continued with the introduction of the Unhas Campus by the Head of the International Affairs Office (Andi Masyita Irwa, S.Kep., Ns. Ph.D). In her presentation, she explained the various performance achievements, facilities and infrastructure and academic development of Unhas.
This year, the number of participants involved was 47 participants from 22 countries, including, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Chile, Egypt, Honduras, India, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine to Vietnam.
According to the implementation schedule, ICP Unhas 2023 will last until Monday (19/06) with several agendas that have been prepared. (*/mir)
