Home Coming Alumni: UNHAS and Its U.S.-Based Graduate Reconnect Through Knowledge Sharing
The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) recently held a special session with one of the alumni currently residing in the United States of America (USA). The event, titled “Home Coming Alumni,” took place on Friday, 7 November 2025, at 9:00 AM Makassar time. This edition of the session featured Ms. Binta Rosline Roberts, an alumna of the Master’s Program in Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture.

During the session, Ms. Binta delivered a presentation entitled “From Campus to Career: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities after UNHAS.” The session aimed to provide a platform for UNHAS alumni to share their post-graduation experiences, challenges, and opportunities with current international and local students.
The session was officially opened by Dr. Andi Masyitha Irwan, Head of IO, who expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Binta for dedicating her time to share valuable insights with the UNHAS academic community. In her talk, Ms. Binta recounted her career journey after completing her studies at UNHAS and offered practical and inspiring strategies for students to prepare for their future careers.
Toward the end of her presentation, Ms. Binta encouraged participants to “stay curious and keep learning,” emphasizing the importance of building meaningful connections, embracing change and personal growth, and defining success on one’s own terms. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session moderated by Muhammad Ridwan, M.A., Secretary of IO, followed by the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Binta as a token of gratitude.
