Guest Lecture for Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry Residents Highlights Advances in Interdisciplinary Dental Care
The Departments of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) held a Guest Lecture for students of specialist programs in Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry on Wednesday, 5 February 2026, from 08:00 to 10:00 am. The academic event aimed to broaden residents’ knowledge of contemporary orthodontic and interdisciplinary dental treatments. The main lecture was delivered by Prof. Jian-Hong Yu, DDS., Ph.D, a faculty member of the School of Dentistry, China Medical University. Prof. Jian-Hong Yu, DDS., Ph.D, who is commonly known as Prof. Kenko presented a lecture entitled “LH Orthodontics for Adolescents,” focusing on modern orthodontic approaches for adolescent patients, emphasizing growth considerations, biomechanical principles, and evidence-based treatment planning.

The session was moderated by drg. Yayah Inayah, Sp.KGA, who facilitated an engaging and interactive discussion. In addition to the main speaker, Assistant Professor Hsu Wen Chieh delivered a lecture titled “Tooth Replantation for Challenging Teeth: Patient Selection across Periodontal, Endodontic, and Structural Problems,” highlighting interdisciplinary decision-making in complex clinical cases.
Furthermore, Eric Chun-Yi Huang, DDS., Ph.D, presented “Next Generation Clear Aligner Therapy: An End-to-End LuxCreo Workflow for Direct 3D Printing,” introducing advanced digital workflows and innovations in clear aligner technology.

The guest lecture was attended by residents and faculty members from both departments and was met with strong academic enthusiasm. This activity served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international academic engagement, supporting the continuous development of clinical competence and academic excellence among postgraduate dental residents.
