On Friday, December 20, 2024, the International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) conducted its last Friday Outbound Clinic (FoC) in 2024 on “Master the World Through Language Starting with Duolingo.” The session, facilitated by Khaeruddin, Ph.D., an alumni of the University of Newcastle.
Throughout 2024, the International Office of Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) has been consistently hosting its Friday Outbound Clinic, an online initiative aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue international academic opportunities. These monthly sessions have become a staple for students aspiring to take part in short courses, summer programs, exchange programs, and other global mobility schemes. In 2024, the program has been conducted for 12 times (22 Maret 2024; 5, 19, and 26 April 2024; 30 August 2024; 6, 20, and 27 September 2024; 11 October 2024; 15 and 28 November 2024; and 20 December 2024)
The clinic invites a variety of guest speakers—ranging from scholarship awardees, alumni of international programs, to academic advisors—who share practical insights and firsthand experiences. Topics commonly discussed include tips and tricks on securing scholarships, crafting compelling application essays, preparing for interviews, and choosing suitable programs based on academic interests and career goals. The sessions are designed to be interactive, with open Q&A segments allowing participants to directly engage with the speakers.
By conducting the clinic online, the International Office ensures accessibility for students from all faculties and campuses, promoting inclusivity and encouraging a wider participation. The initiative has received positive feedback from students, many of whom have expressed increased confidence in applying for international programs and navigating application processes.
The Friday Outbound Clinic stands as a testament to UNHAS’s commitment to internationalization and student development, helping to nurture globally-minded graduates ready to make their mark on the world stage.
