Enhancing Cultural and Language Skills: UNHAS Concludes Indonesian Class for International Students 2025
The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), through its Student Volunteers (STUVO), successfully organized the Indonesian Class for International Students, Batch 2025, on 28 November 2025. The program serves as a complementary learning platform to the Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA) course facilitated by the UNHAS Language Services Unit. This session marked the seventh and final class of the 2025 series.

Designed to strengthen practical language skills, the initiative provides international students with real opportunities to apply Indonesian in everyday interactions. By combining language learning with cultural engagement, the program encourages students to communicate confidently in social settings while gaining a deeper understanding of Indonesian culture from lived experiences and local perspectives.
This week’s class was led by Muh Anugerah, S.I.Kom., staff of IO UNHAS, and supported by STUVO members Zulfiqri Saputra Samsul, Bashar Alatrash, Nayla Wijayanti, Aqilah Putri, Nadya Salsabila, Andi Milhan, Muammar Khadafi, and Rifkhy Arishall, who contributed actively to the preparation and facilitation of the session. Held at International Housing (RAMSIS), the agenda included a review of previous lessons, a post-test, and a sharing session in which participants reflected on their experiences throughout the seven-week program.

Interactive, practical, and culturally relevant lesson materials emphasized everyday expressions and real-world contexts. Participants were also introduced to common phrases from the Makassar dialect, enabling them to appreciate the linguistic diversity and cultural richness of their surrounding environment.
Through this program, STUVO continues to build a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for international students, promoting stronger cross-cultural communication and deeper mutual understanding within the UNHAS community.
