Cross-Cultural Medical Learning: Niigata University and Hasanuddin University in Academic Partnership

The Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), welcomed four inbound students from Niigata University, Japan, to take part in the Summer Exchange Program, held from 19 to 29 August 2025. This program is part of an ongoing academic collaboration between UNHAS and Niigata University, aimed at strengthening international networks, broadening students’ global perspectives, and enhancing cross-cultural understanding in the fields of medicine and health.

Throughout the program, the Niigata University students will participate in a series of activities at UNHAS’s Faculty of Medicine as well as affiliated hospitals and community health centers (puskesmas). The activities will focus on studying infectious and tropical diseases within the Department of Internal Medicine, in addition to observing firsthand medical examinations and treatments conducted at local puskesmas.Through this initiative, UNHAS continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering global collaboration and preparing a young generation with strong international competitiveness.
