Building Global Readiness: Faculty of Nursing UNHAS Prepares Students and Lecturers for International Programs

The Faculty of Nursing (FKep), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), held a Pre-Departure Training (PDT) for students and lecturers participating in the International Outbound Program on Friday, 12 December 2025. The activity took place from 08.00 to 15.00 in the Senate Room of the Faculty of Nursing, UNHAS.

The program was officially opened and attended by the Dean of the FKep, UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Elly L. Sjattar, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D. The PDT served not only as a formal send-off for outbound students and lecturers, but also to equip participants with essential knowledge before undertaking international academic programs abroad.

The training covered several important topics delivered by the International Office team of UNHAS. The session on Outbound Students and Lecturers as UNHAS Ambassadors was presented by Andi Masyitha Irwan, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D., Head of the International Office of UNHAS. Meanwhile, Cross-Cultural Understanding was delivered by Muhammad Ridwan, S.S., M.A., and Dealing with Culture Shock was presented by Dr. Saadudin, M.Sc.

In addition, students received academic preparation related to nursing through a session on Advanced Nursing Practice, delivered by Dr. Rosyidah Arfat, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.

Regarding the upcoming international outbound activities, two students and one lecturer will participate in a Student Exchange Program at Okayama University, scheduled for 14–29 December 2025. Furthermore, ten students and one lecturer will join the Sakura Science Program hosted by Yokohama City University, Japan, which will take place from 12–19 January 2025.
