International Guest Lecture Enriches Knowledge in Pathology in Dental Development for Students

The Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University successfully conducted an International Class Guest Lecture as part of the Dental Anatomy and Embryolog Course for the Class of 2025. The academic event was organized to strengthen global engagement and enrich students’ scientific perspectives in dental education.

The lecture featured Dr. Siti Amalina Binti Inche Zainal Abidin, Ph.D, from the Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya. She delivered a comprehensive presentation entitled “Pathology in Dental Development.”

The lecture was conducted online on Wednesday, February 25th, 2025, at 09.00 AM (WITA) and was attended by the Class of 2025 students as well as several faculty members of the Faculty of Dentistry. The presence of lecturers further enriched the academic discussion and strengthened the collaborative learning environment.

During the session, Dr. Siti Amalina elaborated on developmental disturbances of teeth, underlying pathological mechanisms, and their clinical implications. The discussion emphasized how early alterations during tooth development may influence dental structure, eruption patterns, and long-term oral health outcomes.

The interactive lecture created an engaging academic atmosphere, allowing students to actively participate in discussions and deepen their understanding of dental developmental pathology. The session not only strengthened theoretical foundations but also reinforced the integration of basic sciences with clinical applications.
