International Collaboration: Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University and Niigata University Enhance Partnership through Academic and Joint Conference
The Dean of Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Irfan Sugianto, drg., M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., Sp.RKG together with the Head of the Specialist Program in Dental Radiology, Prof. Dr. Barunawaty Yunus, drg., M.Kes., Sp.RKG., Subsp.Rad-D (K) conducted an official visit to Niigata University, Japan on 10-12 November 2025. During the visit, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Niigata University, Prof. Makoto Inoue, DDS., Ph.D.
This meeting marked an important step in strengthening the international collaboration between the two universities in academic and research activities in the field of dental radiology. On this occasion, one of the main discussion points was the plan to organize the 3rd Joint Symposium UNHAS and Niigata University which will be in conjunction with the National Dental Radiology Seminar that will be held in Makassar in June 2026.
Moreover, the delegation had an opportunity to meet with Prof. Takafumi Hayashi, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology expert from Niigata University. The discussion included the sit-in program plan for dental radiology specialist students from Faculty of Dentistry UNHAS in August 2026. This program is expected to provide valuable learning experience to enhance the students knowledge on advanced imaging technology in oral and maxillofacial radiology.
Through this collaborative program, the two universities are confident about strengthening partnership to develop the quality of academic and research in dental radiology at the international level.
