UNHAS Lecturer Presents Research at the 10th Turkish Conference on Earthquake Engineering in Istanbul

Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) proudly participated in the 10th Turkish Conference on Earthquake Engineering (10TCEE) from 8-10 October 2026, a prestigious international forum held every four years that brings together leading scientists, engineers, and researchers to advance knowledge in seismic risk, structural resilience, and earthquake mitigation. The conference took place at the İstanbul Technical University (ITU) Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, organized by the Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers and the Turkish Earthquake Foundation.

Representing UNHAS, Andi Muhamad Pramatadie, Ph.D., from the Department of Geophysics, presented his research titled “Vibration Characteristic Estimation of Bili-Bili Dam, South Sulawesi, Indonesia Using Microtremor Observation.” His study demonstrates the use of microtremor techniques to assess the dynamic behavior and structural integrity of the Bili-Bili Dam, a critical infrastructure in South Sulawesi. He emphasized the importance of seismic monitoring for large dam structures in tectonically active regions. Through microtremor analysis, his research provides valuable insights into potential seismic vulnerabilities and supports proactive disaster risk management. Participation in 10TCEE strengthens UNHAS’s international presence and its commitment to advancing research in earthquake engineering and disaster resilience.
