Leiden Expert in Medical Education Delivers Guest Lecture and Mentorship at Faculty of Medicine UNHAS

The Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (FKUH), welcomed Assoc. Prof. Peter de Jong, Ph.D, Senior Advisor and Researcher at the Center for Innovation in Medical Education, Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), the Netherlands.

On 6 October 2025, Prof. de Jong delivered a guest lecture on “Obtaining Best Evidence in Medical Education,” attended by lecturers and students of the Master of Health Professions Education (MPHE) program, which has been established since 2021. The session drew great enthusiasm, reflected in the lively discussion and in-depth questions posed to the speaker.

The program continued on 7 October 2025, with MPHE students participating in consultation and mentoring sessions focused on their research proposals and ongoing scientific publications. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for students to receive direct input from an international expert in the field of medical education.

According to Prof. Dr. dr. Rina Masadah, Sp.PA(K), M.Phil, DFM, Vice Dean for Publication, Community Service, and International Affairs, the visit brought significant benefits to both faculty members and students.“LUMC is a leading institution in medical education and has produced many experts in the field. Collaborations like this not only broaden academic perspectives but also enhance FKUH’s international recognition and reputation,” she stated.

Through this activity, it is expected that the collaboration between FKUH and LUMC will continue to strengthen, further positioning FKUH as a globally competitive institution in medical education.
