Hasanuddin University Showcased at IPEKA University Expo (IVERSE) in Balikpapan

The International Office (IO), in collaboration with the Public Relations and Promotion Office of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) recently took part in the IPEKA Iman, Pengharapan dan Kasih. University Expo (IVERSE), held from 12–13 September 2025 at IPEKA Christian School, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

The IVERSE is a series of university expos organised by IPEKA, bringing together leading universities—both public and private, domestic and international—to introduce their programs to IPEKA students. This year marked UNHAS’ second participation, following its previous involvement at IPEKA Christian School Makassar, which was warmly appreciated by the organizers. In recognition, IPEKA generously provided airline tickets and accommodation for two UNHAS representatives to join the Balikpapan event.

During the two-day expo, enthusiasm and strong interest were evident among IPEKA students. UNHAS was represented through a booth exhibition and also received the opportunity to present in classroom sessions. On the first day, UNHAS conducted three scheduled classroom sessions; however, due to Friday prayers overlapping with the expo schedule, many students were redirected to explore the UNHAS booth instead.

The second day of IVERSE opened the exhibition to a wider audience, attracting not only students but also parents and the local community of Balikpapan. This provided greater opportunities for engagement and for UNHAS to connect with potential future students. Representing UNHAS at the event were Dr. Ahmad Bahar (Promotion Office) and Muhammad Ridwan, M.A. (IO Secretary). Both expressed their hope that more students from IPEKA and across Balikpapan would consider UNHAS as their destination for higher education.
