Hasanuddin University of the International Office Promotes Study Opportunities at UNSW Australia
The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) continues to provide valuable information on study abroad and scholarship opportunities to the UNHAS academic community. In collaboration with the International Development Program (IDP) Australia, IO held another information session featuring a representative from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. The event took place on Friday, 12 September 2024, at the Senate Room, 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building, and was attended by around 200 participants, including students, lecturers, and staff.
The session was officially opened by Prof. Sumbangan Baja, PhD, Secretary of UNHAS, and accompanied by the IO Squad Team, including Dra. Harniati (Head of the Foreign Affairs Division), Haniek Khoirunnissa Baja, M.Sc. (Chair of the Committee), Khairuddin, Ph.D. (IO Task Force), and other staff members. Representatives from IDP Australia and UNSW delivered presentations on academic opportunities at UNSW, which attracted strong interest from participants eager to explore future study options abroad.
Currently, many UNHAS lecturers have pursued graduate studies at leading Australian universities such as Curtin University, the University of Newcastle, the University of Melbourne, the University of Queensland, James Cook University, and the University of Technology Sydney. However, none have yet graduated from UNSW. This session was therefore seen as a valuable opportunity for UNHAS academics to consider UNSW as their destination for further studies. The event concluded with a token exchange and a group photo session.
