Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), through its International Office (IO), participated in the 2025 ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum (AEF) held by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) from 24 to 25 February 2025 at Sunway Resort Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Representing UNHAS were Muhammad Ridwan, M.A. (IO Secretary), Kumara Tungga Dewa, S.S. (IO Mobility Program Staff), and Prof. drg. The event brought together around 100 universities from across ASEAN, providing a platform to showcase academic excellence and foster regional collaboration.

At the UNHAS booth, various merchandise items were distributed to attract prospective students interested in degree and non-degree programs at the university. Visitors signed in via a barcode system and received souvenirs such as chocolate sachets, pens, tote bags, and pouches. Additionally, UNHAS highlighted its commercialized products from the Science Techno Park (STP), featuring a range of innovative items, including chocolate, corn rice, herbal products, choco liquor, honey, and more. These products, all manufactured through STP, captured significant attention from attendees.

The Education and Culture Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Firdaus, S.P., M.Si. expressed appreciation for UNHAS’s efforts in introducing these products at an international level. He encouraged the university to explore global trade opportunities, allowing the products to gain wider recognition and become a source of institutional pride. This initiative aligns with UNHAS’s commitment to combining education, research, and industry to create a broader impact.

Beyond showcasing academic programs and innovative products, the UNHAS delegation actively promoted the 8th International Cultural Program (ICP), set to take place in July. Muhammad Ridwan, M.A., engaged with visitors, explaining the program’s objectives and activities. Many attendees showed great enthusiasm and interest in participating, highlighting the growing appeal of UNHAS’s international programs.

The exhibition concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony featuring cultural performances, including traditional Malaysian dances. The event wrapped up with a grand group photo session, marking the success of another significant milestone in UNHAS’s internationalization efforts. By participating in AEF 2025, UNHAS reinforced its role as a leading institution in ASEAN, fostering academic collaborations and promoting Indonesian higher education to a global audience.
