The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), represented by Muhammad Ridwan, M.A. (IO Secretary), and Saaduddin (IO Task Force for Immigration and International Students Affairs), recently welcomed Ryzkian Ariandi Pratama from the U.S. Consulate General Office of Surabaya and Abdul Hakim, M.A., Director of American Corner Makassar. The visit focused on updates regarding the official launch of the transformed American Corner, scheduled for January 21–22, 2025, at Nipah Mall, Makassar, marking a shift to a public-focused format aimed at reaching a wider audience, including students, lecturers, and the general public interested in U.S.-related resources.

In addition to discussing the American Corner’s transformation, the visit also emphasized plans for a meeting between a representative of the U.S. Consulate and Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, Ph.D., (Rector) to explore opportunities for collaboration and enhance scientific and academic engagement. The visit concluded with a photo session, highlighting the positive and productive relationship between the International Office and the U.S. representatives, with both parties expressing optimism about future collaborations and the expanded impact of the American Corner in Makassar.
