The Faculty of Nursing (FKep), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) successfully participated in the 2024 Online Global Health Program organized by Yokohama City University, Japan, on Thursday, August 8th, 2024. This program is a collaboration between the FKep, UNHAS and the Department of Nursing, Yokohama City University (YCU). The program, conducted online, aims to enhance understanding and collaboration between the two institutions in the field of global health.
In the first session, there were detailed presentations about daily life and nursing education in Japan and Indonesia. Students from YCU presented on the topics “Introduction of Japan” and “Introduction of Daily Life of Students and Nursing Education in YCU”. Conversely, students from UNHAS discussed “Introduction of Indonesia” and “Introduction of Daily Life of Students and Nursing in UNHAS”. This exchange of information provided valuable insights into the differences and similarities in nursing education and student life between the two countries.
In addition to the presentations, the program featured mini-lectures from professors of UNHAS and Tokyo University (TU). Prof. Nakagami Gojiro delivered a lecture on “Diabetes and Foot Care”, while Dr. Andina Setyawati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep. presented on “Herbal Approach in Preventing Diabetes”. These short lectures provided valuable new knowledge for the participants. The program also included interactive discussion sessions between nursing students from both universities, strengthening academic relationships and opening opportunities for future collaborations.
