Faculty of Nursing Universitas Hasanuddin is the largest Faculty of Nursing in Eastern Indonesia. Its high quality and reputation are guaranteed. Our faculty has collaborated with type A Hospital in the city as a teaching hospital to provide a high standard of service. Our programs continue to seek innovations in the education system, especially through cooperation with international institutions, to produce alumni with competitive international standards in this globalization era.

The Uniqueness of Faculty of Nursing
As one of the biggest Nursing Study Program in Eastern Indonesia, the Nursing Program of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Hasanuddin, tries to focus its study on Tropical Diseases as it may become the biggest challenge of the health system in Indonesia. Using the maritime cultural approach, Nursing Program develops its research and learning atmosphere towards tropical disease issues. It reflects by one of our mandatory courses, Tropical Disease in Nursing that being offered at year fourth on our undergraduate level. This course also being taught by our reliable lecturers who grow their expertise in this field.
We also acknowledge that it may be very challenging for our foreign students to be able to adapt quickly to our culture especially our national language, Bahasa Indonesia. As we have predicted that language can be a big barrier for our international students to study on our faculty, thus we also offer a Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers Program (BIPA Program) as our enrichment program. This course program is a part of our collaboration with Universitas Hasanuddin’s Language Center. International students can join this program twice a week for 3 months and will be taught by our expert lecturers.

The program provides opportunity for graduates to be able:

To perform effective communication, therapeutic communication in delivering health care and be able to build effective interprofessional relations.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)
Upon graduation, students are able:
A. Attitude (A)
A1. To demonstrate attitude with cultural sensitivity based on ethical principles and nursing legal aspects;
A2. To work professionally with passion and determination based on maritime continent culture in achieving patients’ goal of care according to her/his clinical privilege and responsibility, in particular in nursing care for tropical diseases.
B. Knowledge (K)
K1. To demonstrate comprehensive understanding nursing concept, theory and management principles in providing nursing care to client in clinical and community settings based on research findings;
K2. To apply nursing knowledge, information system and technology into clinical practices;
C. Skills (S)
S1. To communicate his/her opinions/ argumentations or product of innovation that useful for nursing profession developments nationally and internationally that credible in scientific and professionals ethics;
S2. To have task competence in delivering nursing care and services that able to compete nationally and globally.
D. Competence (C)
C1. To provide comprehensive and continuing nursing care based on research that ensure patients’ safety according to the standards of nursing care in all nursing areas particularly on tropical disease that commonly occurred in maritime continent according to nurse’ clinical privilege;
C2. To perform therapeutic communication and give accurate information to clients and/or to family/assistance/advocates in obtaining an informed consent of care within their responsibility;
C3. To manage nursing care systems in one unit or ward within their responsibility by collaborating with other nurses, other health professionals, and group of people in community to reduce morbidity rates, to improve healthy lifestyles and healthy environment;
C4. To improve nursing and health services qualities by applying research skill and integrating theory into nursing practice
The program comprises of 180 of credit points, in which the implementation is divided into 2 degree; Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (BSN) and Professional Nurse program (PN). Upon the completion of the programme, graduates will be awarded Sarjana Keperawatan (S.Kep), Ners (Ns) or equivalent to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Professional Nurse (PN).
