The Bachelor of Physiotherapy Program (S.Ft) is completed in 8 (eight) semesters over 4 (four) years consisting of 45 courses with a total of 147 credits. After passing the academic stage of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (S.Ft), students must continue to the Physiotherapy professional stage to become a Physio (Ftr) as the main requirement to practice physiotherapy independently and professionally.

The first phase consists of two semesters, namely Semester I and Semester II. In this phase, the basics of humanities and the development of sports and artistic talents are given as a basis for understanding the function of movement, learning skills as a lifelong learning concept, social and public health, informatics technology and the basics of normal biological structures and functions.

The second phase consists of two semesters, namely semester III and IV. In this phase, it begins with the basics of examining, processing and measuring FT, understanding various physiotherapy modalities, body movements, electrophysics and physical sources, as well as research and statistical methodologies related to the concept of health and illness in biological structures and functions related to movement problems and movement functions of individuals and communities whose applications use concepts such as therapeutic communication, humanities, interpreneurship, and physiotherapy pharmacology are presented in an integrated manner. In the 4th semester, physiotherapy process management was also given on the concept of health and illness (pathology) in neurology and musculoskeletal.

The third phase is presented in three semesters, namely semester V, VI, and VII. In this phase, management of the physiotherapy process is given to the concept of health and especially the concept of pain (pathology) related to the structure and function of individual and community body movements as well as growth and development (pediatrics), geriatrics, cardiovasculopulmonary, women’s health and integument, sports physiotherapy, functional therapy. , as well as clinical skills. Meanwhile, ethics and health laws, service management, epidemiology, ergonomics and hyper health as well as health psychology are provided in an integrated manner. Furthermore, the academic program is continued with various community-based activities in the form of Real Work Lectures (KKN). In the fourth phase, namely semester VIII, it is focused on the preparation of scientific papers (thesis), thesis seminars which are the end of the academic phase and maturation of technology in the form of courses that oriented to preclinics with the aim of bridging clinical skills and professional abilities. After completing these phases, the graduate earns a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy (S.Ft.).

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, they will prepare themselves to continue to the Physiotherapy Professional Education Study Program as the main requirement to practice physiotherapy independently and professionally.

Graduates will be able to:

  1. Able to provide physiotherapy services independently and professionally by conducting assessment, diagnosis of physiotherapy, and physiotherapy interventions to patients / clients / the wider community.
  2. Able to transform knowledge about basic concepts, principles, and theories related to the field of Physiotherapy from cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

A. Attitude

  1. Able to study and apply scientific thinking (logical, critical, systematic, and innovative), independently or collectively in developing science and technology FT with attention to humanities values. (CP3)
  2. Able to study and develop the concept of interprofessional education in IPTEK FT. (CP4)

C. Mastery of Science

  1. Mastering general basic scientific theory concepts related to FT (Biologic basic Science, Psychologic Science, Movement Science, Profesionalism and Ethics, Care of Practice of PT and Humanities) (CP5)
  2. Mastering the basic scientific theory concepts of FT expertise (Biomechanics-Ergonomics, Biomedics, Biophysics, Applied Pathology and Research Methodology) (CP6)
  3. Mastering the theoretical concepts of science and technology expertise FT (CP7)

D. Special Skills

  1. Able to implement physiotherapy modalities by utilizing the results of the Laboratory-Radiology, applied pathology & wellness, related to movement & function in FT (CP8)
  2. Able to carry out the FT process systematically and adequately, based on the theoretical concepts of general basic science, basic expertise and expertise independently. (CP9)
  3. Able to compile and develop a modification concept of FT technique method based on FT evaluation result (CP10)
Registration Requirements There are three options for admission to this program: National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN), Joint Admission Selection with State Universities (SBMPTN), and Local Entrance Selection (JNS)The general entry requirement for these three types of admission is that applicants have successfully completed their secondary education as evidenced by a graduation certificate from Senior High School. Specific entry requirements for each registration option:

1. National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN)

  • SNMPTN is carried out based on tracking academic achievement using reports from the first to fifth semesters for 3 years of high school and academic portfolios.
  • Schools whose students apply for SNMPTN must have a National School Identification Number (NPSN) and student academic achievement registered with the School and Student Database (PDSS) / School and Student Database.
  • Applicants have a National Student Identity Number, have excellent academic performance, and are documented in the School and Student Database (PDSS) / School and Student Database.

2. Joint Admission Selection for State Universities (SBMPTN)

  • Students graduated from Senior High School who have graduated for a maximum of three years and already have a graduation certificate.
  • High school students who have just graduated and have not obtained a diploma, are allowed to use a Pass Certificate (SKL) containing the student’s identity, recent photo of the graduate, and the original stamp of the original school.

3.University level entry pathways (three types)

a. Non-Subsidized Path

  • Registered as a SBMPTN participant in the current year.
  • Those who have passed the SBMPTN in that year are not allowed to register.
  • Must be registered in one of the Hasanuddin University study programs through the SBMPTN in that year.

b. Achievement Tracks in Sports, Arts and Sciences

  • Must have achievement at a tournament / national level in sports, arts, and / or science.

c. Collaborative pathways for curriculum transfer

  • Has completed a 3-year Diploma program in physiotherapy
  • Works as a physiotherapist
  • Get a scholarship from the government or their workplace institution that has a cooperation agreement with Hasanuddin University.

Program Structure and Content The Physiotherapy Undergraduate Program (S.Ft) is completed in 8 (eight) semesters over 4 (four) years consisting of 45 courses with a total of 147 credits. After passing the academic stage of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (S.Ft), students must continue to the Physiotherapy professional stage (3 semesters) to become a Physio (Ftr) as the main requirement to practice physiotherapy independently and professionally.

Drop-Out Rules The drop-out rule is based on a Decree by the Rector of Hasanuddin University (number 1870 / H04 / 2009).Students are declared drop-out if:

  • Resign yourself.
  • Academic reasons: Students who at the end of the fourth semester do not achieve GPA = 2.00 counted from at least 48 credits that have been achieved,
  • Have not completed studies at the end of the 14th semester.
  • Violation of ethics and legal rules based on the Academic Senate of Hasanuddin University (Number 46919 / UN.2 / IT.03 / 2016) concerning Student Ethical Violations.
