This community service activity is in collaboration with members of the At-Tahiriyah Taklim Council located in Tammua Village, Tallo District, Makassar. The At-Tahiriyah Taklim Council is a religious organization forum for the Kec. Tallo Kel. Tammua consists of 32 elderly mothers. During this pandemic, the physical activity carried out by the elderly is reduced. The elderly, who used to routinely carry out activities outside the home, are now reducing their activity of walking from one place to another such as to markets, places of worship, and other public facilities and limiting other physical activities. Elderly pilgrims experience walking disorders such as leg pain, feeling heavy when walking, and disturbed balance. When walking the elderly tend to be unstable, trying to reach something when walking, some also walk using an assistive device and have a slow walking speed. In addition, the knowledge of the elderly congregation about physical exercise during the pandemic is still lacking and there has also been no provision of education to members of the taklim assembly about the benefits of physical exercise on the elderly’s postural balance.

The purpose of this activity is to socialize to the wider community about education on multimodal postural balance exercises as an effort to improve the health of community movement functions in the Covid-19 pandemic era by providing explanations and demonstrations of physical exercises to strengthen limb muscles to improve walking balance and reduce the risk of falling.
