In order to increase the participation of Nursing & Physiotherapy students in entrepreneurship, the Nursing Faculty of Nursing Student & Alumni Affairs Organized the FKep Student Entrepreneurial Program Workshop (PMW) 2020. This activity also aims as a first step in capturing business ideas from Unhas Nursing students and providing knowledge basic about entrepreneurship before they participate in the actual PMW grant competition held by Unhas every year.
The PMW workshop at the nursing faculty was held virtually in two stages, namely the first stage on November 8th and the second stage on November 15th. In the first stage, students are given some material from three selected sources. The materials include Entrepreneurial Motivation and Outreach for PMW Activities by Nurhaya Nurdin S.Kep., Ns., MN., MPH; The explanation of the PMW Guidelines by Yudi Hardianto, S.Ft., Physio, M. Clin. Rehab and finally Social Entrepreneurship & Business Model Canvas (BMC) by Ben Vasco Tarigan, ST., MT. The activity at stage one was attended by 37 students from the Nursing Study Program and Physiotherapy Study Program.
A week later, on Sunday 15 November it was followed by the second phase of the workshop. At this stage, the participants were asked to present their BMC team business ideas within 10 minutes. There are 7 teams that competed in this session. In the end, it was announced the three teams that got the highest score points from the assessment team, namely: WoW Business (wedding & Event Makeup), Kencur Rice Herbal Drink Business and Healthy Tea Business Team. The three teams each received coaching assistance funds of 500 thousand, 350 thousand and 250 thousand each.
In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni & Partnerships, FKep Unhas Syahrul Said, S.Kep., Ns. PhD greatly appreciated this activity and strongly supported all participants involved in this activity to participate as candidates for young entrepreneurs. He further explained that this year only five students were successfully funded in the PMW program, he hopes that in 2021, there will be more PMW participants from FKep who will be involved and funded in PMW Unhas 2021.
