The online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic can cause a variety of physical and psychological responses such as stress, anxiety or depression so that efforts or strategies are needed to maintain optimal health. Therefore, the mental nursing scientific group of the Nursing Undergraduate Study Program of the Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Faculty of Nursing held community service with the theme “Strengthening Mental Health through Stress Management During Online Lectures in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period for Unhas students” which is also a series of activities from 3rd Anniversary of the Faculty of Nursing.
This activity was held on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at 08.00 – 12.30 Wita through the virtual Zoom meeting application which was attended by 265 participants (lecturers, alumni and students of various Faculties at Hasanuddin University) and organized by a committee from Unhas Faculty of Nursing students. The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Unhas as well as the Lecturer of Psychiatric Nursing Dr Ariyanti Saleh, SKp., M.Si. which was guided by MC Putu Dita Lestari, a class year student of 2018. During the activity, four materials were presented every 45 minutes interspersed with motivational video playback for about 5 – 7 minutes per material break. “My Soul Healthy?” is the first material presented by Dr Ariyanti Saleh, SKp., M.Sc., continued with the material “Mind-Body Connection” by Mrs Hapsah, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep. who is also the Coordinator of the F.Kep. Unhas Mental Nursing Scientific Group.
To add to the strengthening of the participant’s coping strategies, “Coaching in Your Life” is a material choice that is no less interesting than the material previously presented by Mrs Andriani, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. As the closing material, Mr Akbar Harisa, S.Kep., Ns., PMNC, MN who is also the Chair of the Committee, briefly explained the material “Who am I?” which is expected to guide participants to find their true identity. Furthermore, he closed this activity with wisdom. After this activity, it is hoped that the participants can use the knowledge obtained to increase physical and mental endurance during online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic.
