As many as 24 health cadres from 8 RWs in Paccerakkang district were trained by Unhas lecturers. This activity was held at the Paccerakkang Community Health Center auditorium on Friday, June 29 2018. Also attending and opening the Paccerakkang District Headquarters, Ekayani Prativi, SH. This activity was also attended by representatives of the head of the Paccerakkang Community Health Center, namely Dr. H. Arifuddin.

In this activity, speakers were competent in their fields, namely Dr. H. Arifuddin, Nurhaya Nurdin, S. Kep., Ns., M.Kes, Arnis Puspitha, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Umniyah Saleh, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. Also in attendance was the person in charge of the elderly program at the Paccerakkang Health Center, Ms. Andi Harmoni. Health cadres were given material about the role of cadres in the implementation of the elderly posyandu, the stages of implementing the posyandu for the elderly 5-table system, how to fill in the KMS for the elderly, as well as counseling and counseling techniques for the elderly.

This activity is a community partnership program (PKM) held by Unhas lecturers funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education in 2018. “Hopefully, we want to make the elderly Posyandu in the Paccerakkang village as a pilot posyandu in Makassar, so that health services are able to touch the needs of the elderly. We also hope that the active participation of the elderly posyandu every month will have an impact on increasing the life expectancy of the elderly, especially the elderly in the Paccerakkang village, “said team leader Arnis Puspitha.

Before the training was held, first recruitment of health cadres was held to be further equipped with knowledge about the concept of the elderly posyandu, and to be trained on how to manage the elderly 5-table posyandu, from the registration desk to counseling. After these cadres are trained, there will be assistance every month for 8 elderly Posyandu groups so that they can act independently.
