Lecturer and students from Physiotherapy study program, Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University in collaboration with the Tamalanrea Jaya Makassar Health Center held an activity titled “Infant Gymnastic Technique Training and Guidance to Health Officers” on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Tamalanrea Jaya Health Center Building.
The activity, chaired by Nur Hikmawaty Hasbiah, S.Ft., Physio, M.Kes is a Community Service Program of Unhas – Community Partnership Program (PPMU-PKM) funded by Hasanuddin University.
More than 30 health cadres in the Tamalanrea Jaya Community Health Center working area and 11 babies and their mothers attended the event. The cadres were given training on Baby Gym or Infant Gymnastics with the aim that the health cadres were able to provide acquired knowledge (transfer knowledge) to the mother or family of the baby later.
This activity was opened directly by the Head of Tamalanrea Jaya Health Center who gave high appreciation for this activity. He was very happy with this activity because it was very supportive for the other programs that had been running at the Tamalanrea Jaya Health Center. He hopes that this activity will continue to the Posyandu, where the attended cadres are guided to teach this baby gymnastic technique to mothers in the Posyandu.
The series of activities are the explanation of material about baby gymnastics and its benefits, as well as the screening of baby gymnastic technique videos. After that, it was followed by practice activities by cadre mothers directly to each baby under the guidance of a team of lecturers and Physiotherapy students, Faculty of Nursing UNHAS.
