UNHAS and POLISAS Strengthen Ties Through Virtual MoU and Mobility Collaboration

Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), through its Directorate of Partnership, officially solidified a new international collaboration with Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (POLISAS), Malaysia. The partnership was formalized during a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held on Thursday, 5 February 2026. The ceremony was attended by key UNHAS representatives, including Ansariadi, Ph.D. (Director of Partnership), Zulkifly Tahir, Ph.D. (Head of Sub-Directorate of International Partnership), and Muhammad Ridwan, M.A. (Secretary of the International Office). They were joined by Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Zainal, S.TP., M.FoodTech. (Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Agricultural Technology) and Dr. Agustina from the Faculty of Vocational Studies. Representing POLISAS was Mr. Hisamuddin bin Mohd Tamim, who led the Malaysian delegation. The historic signing was witnessed by a number of academic staff members from both institutions, marking a shared commitment to future academic excellence.

IImmediately following the signing, on Monday, 9 February 2026, the International Office (IO) convened a strategic discussion to outline a series of mobility programs scheduled to run through August 2026. These initiatives include an SDGs Conference, Inbound and Outbound exchanges, and an SDGs Summer Program. This second session saw expanded participation from UNHAS leadership, including Andi Masyitha Irwan, Ph.D. (Head of IO), Prof. Ida Leida Maria (Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Vocational Studies), Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Zainal, S.TP., M.FoodTech. (Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs) and Prof. Dr. A. Nurfaidah Rahman, S.TP., M.Si. (Head of Food Science and Technology Study Program) from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology.

The mobility programs are set to receive significant financial backing from Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impacts and Recognition (EQUITY) Program via the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) or Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education, ensuring robust support for participating students. The meeting concluded with a commitment from both the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and the Faculty of Vocational Studies to finalize program proposals, paving the way for a seamless exchange of students between UNHAS and POLISAS.
