Research Development Program @Unhas 2017

Program facilitated by Prof. Julia Connell (Researcher Development Advisor, Unhas) from Australia, offers development for those keen to improve their research skills. It is for academic staff and selected students. Workshops are organized by The Office of Vice Rector for Innovation and Partnership, International Office, and Publication Management Centre, and will be offered during semester 2, 2017 to assist publishing, grant applications, and more. Launching the Researcher Development Program

To launch the program, proposed by Prof. Julia Connell, UNHAS (represented by Vice Rector for Innovation and Partnership Prof. Dr. Budu, PhD) officially announced the launch on 21 July 2017 combined with the first workshop – Time Management for Researchers.

Other Exciting Workshops (COMING SOON!) – updates will be given:

  • Writing and Publishing for Quality, International Journals (Scopus/Thomson): 25 – 27 August and 22 – 24 September. Please ask Faculty Deans for more information.
  • Getting Grants and Funding: 8 – 9th September and 6 – 7 October. Please ask Faculty Deans for more information.
  • Women Researchers @UNHAS – friendly, supportive sessions for female researchers on: Friday lunchtimes – 15 September, 13 October and 10 November.

Research Consultations: Prof Julia Connell is available for advice regarding publications – where to publish; how to start a paper; writing tips; responses to reviewers; what to do after rejection and more. Also grant writing advice – how to construct applications, your track record and more. Please email to make an appointment at least one week in advance. You will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire to find out how you can best be assisted. Consultation days: Tuesday: 10.00 am –1.30 pm and Thursday: 10.00 am – 1.30 pm, If these days/times are not suitable, please write an email.
